Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul: Canelo Alvarez mocks fight, Jake Paul responds, KSI claims to be ‘best boxer in world’

  • ‘You can’t sell PPVs,’ younger brother tells Mexican, ‘I would eat you alive’ while KSI claims to be ‘best boxer in the world’
  • Social media users bemoan clinching in Miami, while others say the YouTube star and retired boxer will be counting their cash
Reaction to the tawdry draw between Floyd Mayweather Jnr and Logan Paul in their uneventful fight in Miami has been mixed.

While “Money” claimed to have “had fun” in the ring, that sentiment was not shared by those who watched the fight.

Social media was awash with memes of hugging, people counting their money and comments about Conor McGregor’s possible reaction given he was TKO’d by the boxer when the pair met back in 2017.

In the boxing world, where Mayweather has a legitimate claim to being “the best ever” after ending his career with a 49-0 record before taking it to 50-0 in his moneyspinning bout with McGregor, current star Canelo Alvarez summed it up.

The Mexican posted a facepalm emoji to Twitter in reference to the fight.

Logan Paul’s brother Jake responded to that with what appeared to be a challenge to the unified champion of the middleweight division.

“You can’t sell PPVs,” Paul wrote. “I would eat you alive.”

Alvarez has a 56-1-2 record as a pro, most recently beating Britain’s Billie Joe Saunders in Las Vegas last month.

That claim came after the younger Paul – who beat UFC fighter Ben Askren in their own exhibition in April – suggested that his brother had beaten Mayweather.

If that was true, he would have become the first boxer to do so.

“50-1. Holy f***. My brother just beat Floyd Mayweather,” he wrote in one tweet. Another, after the bell went following eight uneventful rounds, said “Gotcha f******* career.”

Logan Paul’s former in-ring nemesis KSI has claimed to be the best boxer in the world.

The YouTube personality turned rapper beat Paul in the most recent of their two fights.

“So … you’re saying I’m now the best boxer in the world?” he wrote on Twitter after the fight.

NBA superstar LeBron James summed up the mismatch in Miami, tweeting “Man this looks like Mike Tyson punch out!”

He then posted a picture of the legendary Nintendo game.
