Second gold for China at world weightlifting championships

Li Yajun gave China their second gold medal at the world weightlifting championships in Wroclaw, Poland, winning the women’s under 53kg title on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Tan Yayun won the women’s under 48kg category.

Li lifted 100kg in the snatch and 121kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 221kg.

Cristina Iovu of Azerbaijan was second and Thailand’s Sopita Tanasan took bronze.

North Korea’s Olympic champion Om Yun-chol won the men’s under 56kg with Long Qingquan of China taking silver and Vietnam’s Kim Tuan Thach bronze.
