Chinese weightlifters in class of their own
Lu Xiaojun and Xiang Yanmei take mainland's gold tally to six at world championships in Poland

China won their fifth and sixth gold medals of the world weightlifting championships in Wroclaw, Poland, with Lu Xiaojun claiming the third of his career in the 77kg category.
Liu, who is also the Olympic champion, has dominated the division since 2009 and won in some style on Thursday, setting a new world record of 176kg in the snatch and 380kg in his total lift. The 29-year-old Chinese lifter finished ahead of North Korea’s Kim Kwang-song (359kg) and Ulugbek Alimov of Uzbekistan (355kg).
In the women’s 69kg contest, 21-year-old Xiang Yanmei took gold with 271kg. North Korea’s Ryo Un-hui claimed silver with 262kg while Dzina Sazavanets of Belarus won bronze with a total of 259kg.
