Zhu Ting named Most Popular Player at FIVB World Grand Prix in Macau
The world’s highest paid volleyball player helps China to third place in the Macau leg of the competition while Italy top Turkey to win tournament

Italy made no mistake with a 3-0 win over Turkey to finish top of the group in the FIVB women’s volleyball World Grand Prix Macau leg but it was China captain Zhu Ting who stole the limelight.
The mainlander, reputedly the world’s highest paid volleyball player with an annual salary of HK$12 million, did not let her army fans down as China beat the United States in five sets to finish second in their group.
Zhu, who scored 19 points, second best only behind teammate Yuan Xinyue’s 21, and she was also voted by the fans as the Galaxy Most Popular Player of the tournament.
“We attacked well today and our blocking has significantly improved compared to last week’s match in Kunshan,” said Zhu, who plays in the Turkish professional league for Vakıfbank Istanbul.
“I think this is a good all-round performance from our team.”
