West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic subject of a £35 million bid from Chinese Super League club

  • Austrian forward could be set to leave the London Stadium this month
  • Manchester United also reported to be interested in 29-year-old

West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic is reportedly the subject of a £35 million (US$444.7 million, HK$350.6 million) bid from an unnamed Chinese club, according to sources in the UK.

Speculation has been rife that the 29-year-old could leave the London Stadium this month with the reopening of the transfer window in Britain and Chinese clubs looking to reinforce ahead of the new Chinese Super League season, which gets underway in March.
Manchester United are also monitoring Arnautovic’s progress.

The Austrian international has enjoyed a strong first half of the Premier League season grabbing eight goals in 17 games in all competitions.

Although, West Ham are thought to have little interest in selling their star attacker, the financial might of some Chinese clubs could force their hand.

The former Stoke City man opened the scoring in West Ham’s 2-0 FA Cup third-round win over Birmingham on Saturday but reacted angrily when he was substituted after just 20 minutes. Manager Manuel Pellegrini later said the forward had “felt some pain in his back”.
