The Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix set for April 19 in Shanghai has been cancelled, according to a report in The Times published on Wednesday.
While there has been no official announcement, the cancellation would come as no surprise as China battles the deadly coronavirus outbreak that has seen a number of sporting events moved outside China.
It has not been decided when to reschedule what should have been the fourth race of the F1 season, according to the report.

This season has a record 22 races, with the newest addition being Vietnam, a race that takes place in Hanoi on April 5, meaning it may be hard to reschedule the China race. Hanoi’s debut race may also be in jeopardy.
The last time that a grand prix was cancelled was in 2011 when the Bahrain Grand Prix was called off amid political turmoil in the country.
