The Beijing Ducks’ play-offs hopes took a knock in Qingdao on Tuesday night when they lost 93-90 to the Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese Basketball Association.

This was the second game of the restarted season for the Jeremy Lin-led Ducks but the loss saw them drop back out of the top four in the CBA standings – with those top four teams earning a bye to the second round of the play-offs. The Ducks are now seventh, on points scored.
The loss could prove even more costly as the 11th-ranked Zhejiang Golden Bulls are only a win behind the Ducks in the standings. Only the top eight teams go to the postseason.
Lin had the ball with 14 seconds to go and the Ducks down by three but he could not get a shot off.
Several media reports before the game said the 2019 NBA champion played through a knee injury in an effort to help his team.

The Monkey Kings had two foreigners – Hamed Haddadi and Joseph Young – available to play, while Beijing’s Ekpe Udoh was among a number of injured Beijing players.
