Chinese FA Cup: Beijing Guoan, Wuhan Zall and Tianjin Teda march on after penalty drama
- Goalkeeper Zou Dehai is hero and villain after giving away one spot kick and saving another in the last minute for Bruno Genesio’s side
- Newly naturalised Alan Carvalho notches a brace to secure victory for double hopefuls in Suzhou

The Chinese FA Cup’s first round continued with the second half of games on Saturday, where the Chinese Super League teams in the Suzhou bubble competed for a shot at the second round.
Zou Dehai was hero and villain for Beijing Guoan in his first appearance of the season, giving away one spot kick in the first half and then saving a last minute penalty.
Cleo’s failure from 12 yards meant that Bruno Genesio’s side triumphed 2-1 over Qingdao Huanghai and kept up hopes of silverware for the season.
Beijing’s goals came via an Alan Carvalho brace while Cleo opened the scoring from the spot for Qingdao. Alan, the newly naturalised Brazil-born striker, is tipped to make his China debut in the next round of international matches.
Wuhan Zall and Hebei China Fortune did go to penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time. Mohamed Baya Turay put Hebei 1-0 up in the first half before an own goal from Zhao Yuhao levelled the scores in the second half.
Wuhan then won out on penalties to progress.
