Anderson Talisca has left Guangzhou FC becoming the latest big name foreigner to leave the Chinese Super League.

Talisca has signed a three-year deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, the club announced on social media on Monday.

“Al-Nassr has officially signed with Brazilian star Anderson Talisca. With a contract that extends to 3 years. We wish him good luck with our stars,” they said on Twitter.

The new contract is worth a reported US$7.9 million after tax per year for the former Bahia, Benfica and Besiktas player, while Guangzhou are set to get US$8 million for his transfer.

The Brazilian had been back home in Brazil, along with teammate Paulinho, and unable to return to China because of Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Guangzhou coach Fabio Cannavaro had mentioned their absence before the season, saying his team will struggle to score without the duo. Beijing Guoan’s Renato Augusto has also been unable to return.

Brazilian media reported that former Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho is also looking for a new club.

Talisca wrote an emotional goodbye to Guangzhou on his Instagram account.

“I want to thank Guangzhou Evergrande for all the incredible moments I had at the club, since the very beginning, going through the great matches, in addition to the enormous affection that I always had from everyone at the club and from the fans. You were amazing!

“Unfortunately, no one foresaw or was able to control what is happening on our planet and I am deeply sorry for all that we are experiencing right now.

“You will be forever in my memory and in my heart! Thank you so much for everything!”

The 27-year-old won the Chinese Super League with Guangzhou in 2019 and scored 39 goals in 65 games during his three years at the club.
