China have strolled into the quarter-finals of badminton’s Thomas and Uber Cups in Aarhus, Denmark with two more 5-0 victories in the men’s and women’s team events.
The women’s team played their third and final group game in the Uber Cup on Tuesday night (local time) and kept their 100 per cent record intact.
China – who have won the Uber Cup a record 14 times – beat Denmark 5-0 to move on as group winners, but they did not have it all their own way against the hosts.
After winning 5-0 against Canada and Malaysia without dropping a game, Denmark’s Line Christophersen took one off world No 9 He Bingjiao.

“I was leading but she was stubborn and fought hard,” He told the Badminton World Federation’s official website after her 2-1 (21-23, 21-13, 21-25) win.
