China inflicted revenge on Thailand at the Uber Cup to move on to face holders Japan at the women’s badminton team event in Denmark, while the men will also face Japan in their Thomas Cup semi-final.
The Chinese team won 3-0 to erase memories of the 2018 semi-final defeat to Thailand and move on to face holders Japan in the final in Aarhus on Saturday.
Thailand edged the 2018 semi 3-2 but there was to be no repeat as China won with a whitewash.

China’s Chen Yufei, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games women’s singles champion, was not tested as Ratchanok Intanon retired hurt at 5-2 in their first game.
The Thai shuttler blamed a persistent shoulder injury that she had not yet overcome, saying she did not want to make it worse by continuing.
