It seems like every five minutes Eileen Gu’s name is being mentioned in connection with something or other, whether that’s winning medals, social media posts, or endorsing a product – she is the face of this Winter Olympics. Today was no different, the 18-year-old winning a third medal in Beijing, and a second of the golden variety, in this morning's half-pipe final. China began its chase for another medal in the pairs figure skating event, too, with Pyeongchang silver medallists Sui Wenjing and Han Cong smashing the world record with an incredible short programme routine on Friday evening. The performance put them top going into Sunday's free skate, with Chinese duo Peng Cheng and Jin Yang also in the mix in fifth place.
