Despite scoring a game-high 22 points, a fatigued Lin – who had to sit out some crucial minutes in the final quarter – admitted he “has some thinking to do” after the home team lost 101-96 at Fengshan Arena.

Trailing by 10 points when Steelers head coach Cheng Chih-lung benched Lin “due to signs of exhaustion” in the closing stages, the league’s bottom side crawled back to within a point with two minutes left but that was as close as they got.

“I am so proud of my teammates for staging such a comeback, it was a really good performance,” Lin said.

The Taiwanese-American added that the loss was not related to his teammates’ abilities.
