Bang on trend
Bangladesh’s team were second in line for the athletes’ parade, but they were arguably No 1 in the visual stakes. Their nation’s vibrant green and orange really shone, chiming with the ceremony itself.
It made the kind of opening-night statement other teams could only envy.

Also dressed to impress, we felt, were Kuwait. Their women in particular were striking, accented with sophisticated gold embroidery.
