- New two-week tournament will be held in Houston in September, adding to organisation’s growing reputation
- Event will involve six teams made up of some of the biggest names in women’s first-class cricket

Women’s cricket was already set for a big year with a T20 World Cup and the emergence of an IPL competition in India, now a second FairBreak T20 Tournament has been added to the calendar as well.
Organisers of the invitational competition, which is sanctioned by the ICC and was first developed in conjunction with Cricket Hong Kong, will stage an event in the US in September, as well as one in the city in April.
A statement from FairBreak said the introduction of the new tournament, which will be held in Houston, represented a “major development in the critical work that FairBreak undertakes to deliver opportunities for female cricketers from all corners of the globe”.
The first FairBreak Invitational T20 took place in Dubai in May last year, but will switch to Hong Kong this time around, and will be held at Kowloon Cricket Club from April 3 to 16.
Six teams comprising some of the biggest names in women’s first-class cricket and outstanding players from Associate member nations will play each other in both two-week tournaments. All matches will be broadcast internationally.

“We could not be more pleased to collaborate with FairBreak, and to showcase an event here in the USA,” Vinay Bhimjiani, USA Cricket’s interim CEO, said.
