Fifa 19: Chinese Super League club Career Mode budgets bigger than English Premier League, La Liga and Serie A sides
Beijing Guoan and Guangzhou Evergrande could even compete for Cristiano Ronaldo – if you’re willing to wait a season and save transfer war chest
Fifa 19 is edging closer and with the game’s release less than two weeks away the leaks are increasing.
The budgets for most leagues have been leaked in a video by YouTube user Defaltz and there is disappointment for the social media users who thought that the arrival of the Chinese Super League would mean the biggest budgets in the game.
While they are dwarfed by those of the top teams in the English Premier League led by Manchester City and Manchester United, at Italian champions Juventus and Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona the war chests are certainly not to be sniffed at.
Beijing Guoan have the largest transfer kitty with €62.1 million (US$72.1 million, HK$556.5 million), closely followed by Guanghzou Evergrande.
There might be some surprise that the once free-spending Shanghai SIPG, who bought Hulk for €55.8 million and Oscar for €60 million last season for what were Asia record fees, have a budget of just €24,000,000.
This is less than city rivals Shanghai Shenhua.
Interestingly, Chongqing Lifan have a larger budget than Vissel Kobe, the Japanese J.League side that beat them to Andre Iniesta’s signing in the summer.
That’s something you can rectify on the game.
For those players who will take on the task of managing a Chinese Super League club in career mode, they might finally get to secure the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo, a player that has long been linked with a move to a Chinese club in the tabloid gossip columns.
YouTuber Tobiias took over Manchester United in Fifa 19 career mode with the intention of signing both Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
Because the Portuguese forward has only just signed for Juventus he had to simulate a season but then he managed to lure him away from the Allianz Stadium and back to Old Trafford for £100 million, a figure that Beijing Guoan and Guangzhou Evergrande could afford with a season of not spending.
