Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Real Madrid? Striker could join Bale and Benzema to help goal-shy Galacticos
- Swedish striker being courted by multiple European clubs
- Recently rumoured for return to AC Milan
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is capitalising on an impressive debut season in Major League Soccer as multiple European clubs are apparently circling the Swedish striker.
The 37-year-old enjoyed a fine season for Los Angeles Galaxy scoring 22 goals in 27 games, and claimed goal of the year for his long-distance strike against LAFC, which was also his first goal for Galaxy.
He was coming off knee surgery and a lacklustre 2017-18 for Manchester United where he only played five games and did not score a goal.
ESPN FC is reporting that Spanish club Real Madrid are “mulling” a move for either Ibrahimovic, or Monaco’s Radamel Falcao to help with the team’s scoring woes after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.
Real Madrid sit sixth in La Liga, four points behind league leaders Barcelona.
Karim Benzema leads the team scoring with five goals in 12 games and defender Sergio Ramos is second with four in 12. Gareth Bale has only three goals in 12 games. ESPN FC is also reporting that Real are eager to sign a cut-price striker when the transfer window reopens in January.
Ibrahimovic is under contract with Galaxy until the start of December.
