Nike’s new China kit might be even more popular than the kit they designed for Nigeria at the Fifa World Cup in Russia last summer.
The China kits, created for the women’s team to wear at the Fifa Women’s World Cup this summer, features a striking design for the change strip. 
It features a “a brilliant all-over Phoenix print conveying femininity and virtue”, according to the US-based manufacturer. 
The grey body is accented with crimson and “and a second Phoenix print sits within the kit as a symbol of inner pride”.

               
China’s home kit is the traditional red and similar to the one worn by the men’s team at the Asian Cup. The women wore it when they finished 12th at the recent Algarve Cup.
Both kits were part of a mass unveiling for the 14 Nike-sponsored teams taking part in the Women’s World Cup in France this summer, where 28 of the world’s best players were gathered in Paris.

               
Australia’s nod to their iconic Kingroo made kit of the early 1990s and the Nigeria women’s team’s updated version of the iconic Russia 2018 kit are two of the most eye-catching but England’s Lionesses and Norway have also been singled out for praise. 
The new designs included tournament favourites USA, who honoured the winner’s of the 1999 tournament where they beat China’s Steel Roses in the final. 

               
China were a shoot-out away from being world champions and the Phoenix imagery is meant to signify the opportunity to return to glory.
“Since my first day on pitch, it has been my dream to become a professional football player and represent China – to compete in our national jersey and bring national pride to team China,” said midfielder Wang Shuang, who plays club football at PSG. “Now my dream has come true. I hope we achieve new heights and obtain good results in France.”
The design may come as a shock to those who remember the China men’s away kit that was swiftly recalled by the CFA last spring.

               
That design featured a black body with an all-over dragon print. It has since been referred to as a “banned” kit and has since traded for hundreds of dollars on the internet. 
Nike have long been criticised for their team kit designs, especially in the Chinese Super League where many teams have long worn the same template but that has changed at many clubs this season, while the new national team kits have met with widespread praise on social media. 
Chinese football kits have begun to generate more interest in the lower tiers where the teams are not tied to a division-wide kit deal.

Zhejiang Greentown’s 2019 kits have been particularly spoken about. The Kelme manufactured shirts feature images of the picturesque city and caused quite the stir on social media.
Kelme sponsors all of the Women’s Super League teams and 10 of the 16 clubs in China League One. they recently signed a deal to provide the matchball and referee kits for the division.
The Spain-based manufacturer has also sold thousands of their RCD Espanyol shirts bearing the name of Wu Lei since the China forward arrived in La Liga in January.
