Liverpool fans irate as Luis Suarez celebrates goal for Barcelona in Champions League semi-final
- Barca striker beams with delight after opening scoring at Nou Camp against his former club
- Reds supporters annoyed as fiery Uruguayan clashes with Liverpool players

Liverpool fans have defended Luis Suarez to the hilt in the past. So it was all the more hurtful that their former striker celebrated his Champions League semi-final goal against them on Wednesday night.
Suarez broke the deadlock at the Nou Camp, leaving Virgil van Dijk for dead and nipping in to put Jordi Alba’s cross past Alisson Becker in the first half.
He wheeled away in delight – perhaps understandably, given it was his first Champions League goal this season, after his 36th attempt of the campaign.
But it was his vigorous celebrations of the strike that so irked Liverpool fans on social media, with the Uruguayan even appearing to point up to the travelling fans in the stadium and laugh.

It was tough to take for other Reds fans, after they had backed him in his racism row with Manchester United’s Patrice Evra – his Liverpool teammates even wore T-shirts with his face on in support – and for twice biting opposition players.
