The summer transfer window is open for Chinese Super League sides and the profile of new signings has peaked overseas interest almost as much as the 2017 spending spree.
The biggest deal so far has been Shanghai SIPG’s signing of Austria international Marko Arnautovic who has finally arrived from English Premier League side West Ham United after a protracted pursuit.
It’s an odd signing on the face of it and how the cut-price Zlatan Ibrahimovic deals with China is going to be fascinating. He arrives at the champions with the side still in the title race and gunning for a first AFC Champions League.
