English Premier League side Everton are investigating a reported racist incident directed at Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean international footballer Son Heung-min.
“Everton is investigating an alleged incident of racist behaviour by a supporter attending today’s fixture against Tottenham,” read a statement on Twitter from Everton Fan Services after the game at Goodison Park in Liverpool.
“Everton strongly condemns any form of racism. Any such behaviour has no place within our stadium, our club, our community or our game.”
Images of a supporter making an apparently racist gesture were shared on social media with football fans calling for the culprit to be banned from Everton’s stadium.

This incident, if proven, is not the first time that Son has been the victim of racist abuse in English football.
