Brazilian footballer Kenedy has been criticised on Chinese social media for pushing Espanyol’s China forward Wu Lei in a La Liga match on Tuesday night.
The Chelsea player, who is on loan at Getafe, appeared to push reported Wolves target Wu as the Espanyol player was substituted late in their match at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in the outskirts of Madrid.
With the score 0-0, Wu was walking off to be replaced by midfielder Oscar Melendo in the 90th minute when Kenedy, who came on as a 64th minute substitute, took issue and appeared to shove him in the back as he left the pitch.
The assistant referee also appeared to talk to the Brazilian, while Wu looked back as he went off.
Getafe are fifth in the standings and chasing a place in the Uefa Champions League. The top four finishers in La Liga claim those spots and Getafe are level on points with Real Sociedad in fourth place, having now played a game more.
Kenedy posted after the game on his Instagram account with a photo of him in action and the caption “Stay focused!” but some Wu Lei fans chose to focus on the incident.
