Hong Kong-born footballer Dai Wai-tsun notched another assist in the Chinese Super League to help his Shenzhen side to a draw against Jiangsu Suning in a downpour in Dalian.

The former Wolves, Oxford United and Bury player who joined Shenzhen ahead of the delayed 2020 season, assisted Cameroonian striker John Mary for the equaliser in the 50th minute.

Brazilian forward Alex Teixeira had put the Nanjing side ahead in the fourth minute before Mary slammed home from Dai’s through ball to score his sixth goal in seven games.

Dai, known as Tsun Dai in English football and Dai Weijun on the mainland, has played in all seven of his side’s CSL games this season. He is yet to represent Hong Kong at senior level and his international future has been rumoured to lie with China.

The 21-year-old also notched an assist against Shanghai Shenhua in a 3-2 defeat in the second game of the season as the team lost four games in a row after an opening win over Guangzhou R&F.
