South Korean Spurs star Son Heung-min has been named among the nominations for the Puskas Award for best goal at Fifa’s upcoming The Best awards show.
Son’s solo stunner against Burnley in the English Premier League is one of three goals in line for the award this year, which take place on December 17.
Fifa announced shortlists of three in all categories on Friday. They were all cut down from longlists of 11.
Son is up against Uruguayan Giorgian De Arrascaeta who scored a bicycle kick for Ceara against Flamengo in the Brazilian league championship in August, 2019.

The other finalist is fellow Uruguayan Luis Suarez, whose back-heel goal came for Barcelona against RCD Mallorca on December 7 last year.
That was the same day that Son celebrated being named the AFC Asian International Player of the Year for a record third time with his solo strike at the Spurs Stadium.

Son went past six Burnley players in 11 seconds before rolling the ball home.
The goal which would go on to be named the English Premier League Goal of the Season in August and earned him the nickname “Sonaldo” from his coach Jose Mourinho, in reference to Brazil striker Ronaldo’s iconic goal for Barcelona against Compostela in 1996.
Son told the club’s official website of his “roller coaster” season, which also saw him complete his national service back home amid the coronavirus-disrupted campaign.


In the other awards, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski make up the three-name shortlist for Best Male Player.
Lucy Bronze, Pernille Harder and Wendie Renard are in the running for The Best Women’s Player.
The awards can be watched live on the Fifa website, with the ceremony beginning at 3am December 8 (Hong Kong time).
