South Korea captain Son Heung-min was in tears after his Tottenham Hotspur side lost to English Premier League rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday. A late header from City’s Aymeric Laporte was the difference and Pep Guardiola’s side lifted the trophy for the fourth consecutive season. Son was pictured crying as another trophy slipped through his grasp, with the images going viral online. Spurs, who have not won silverware since 2008, lost the Uefa Champions League final to Liverpool in 2019 . His tears after that defeat in Madrid became a meme, “Son’s crying”, which was based on another meme of the same name.
