While Inter Milan supporters have been celebrating the team’s Italian Serie A title, football fans in China have expressed their anger at the club’s owners and telling them to get out of China. Suning, which took a majority stake in the Italian giants in 2016, was also the owner of Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, who won the CSL title last November . However, the retail giant decided to pull investment from the Chinese champions in the close season and with the club failing to find new funding it ceased to exist . Jiangsu fans took to China’s Twitter-like Weibo to express their feelings to Inter chairman Steven Zhang – son of Suning boss Zhang Jindong. After Steven Zhang thanked everyone for the Serie A champion, his social media account in China was flooded with attacks of Jiangsu FC(Suning) fans as the CSL champion last season, which 'ceased operation' in February, is seemingly sacrificed for Inter Milan's Serie A title. pic.twitter.com/1FAXdiM4U8 — Titan Sports Plus (@titan_plus) May 3, 2021 The Inter president told of his joy at Inter securing the title on Sunday after rivals Atalanta failed to win. “Inter win the Serie A title,” he wrote. “We never gave up even at a time when the pandemic was still ongoing! These are the Nerazzurri colours. They bring us hope and light. We can be proud to say, FC Internazionale Milano, we are champions!” Inter Milan become first Chinese-owned club to win a ‘big five’ league Jiangsu fans responded, with many asking Zhang to give them back their club and some demanding that he disband Inter Milan. Others were more forceful, telling Zhang and Suning to “Get the f*** out of China”. Some users accused Suning of selling the Jiangsu side down the river to help Inter secure a first scudetto since 2010. Inter have had their own financial troubles in recent seasons and it is reported that Zhang returned to Milan last week to secure investment in the club. The Italian side were one of the 12 teams to sign up for the since aborted European Super League last month.
