South Korea captain Son Heung-min sent a message to former Spurs teammate Christian Eriksen after scoring in the country’s 2-1 win over Lebanon on Sunday.
Son scored from the spot to put South Korea 2-1 up in Goyang in the final match of their Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 second round qualifying group before running to the camera.
The 28-year-old held up his fingers to mark “23”, Eriksen’s shirt number, before running to the broadcast camera.
“Chris, stay strong, I love you,” Son said, with the images being shared on social media.

Eriksen, who played at Spurs with Son for five years before signing for Inter Milan in 2020, collapsed on the pitch in Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland on Saturday.
The midfielder needed to be resuscitated before being moved to hospital where he is now in a stable condition.

Son was not the only footballer to show their support for Eriksen after the incident, which was broadcast live around the world.
Eriksen’s former Spurs teammate, Harry Kane, sent a message on Twitter ahead of England’s game against Croatia.
“Chris, I’m sending all my love to you and your family. Stay strong mate,” he wrote.

Eriksen’s current Inter Milan teammate, Romelu Lukaku, dedicated his first goal for Belgium against Russia to the Dane.
Lukaku ran to the television camera and said “Chris! Chris! I love you” in Saturday’s game.
Beyond Eriksen’s clubmates and former colleagues, the wider world has responded with messages wishing him well in his recovery, including one-time rival clubs and national teams.

The Korean FA posted the message “23 for Eriksen” along with photos of their skipper celebrating on their Twitter account on Monday afternoon.
Son’s goal secured top spot for South Korea in group H, moving them on to the third round of Asian qualifiers which are set to start in September. The top two teams in both six-team groups qualify for Qatar 2022.
