Time, tide and the start of the Fantasy Premier League season wait for no one.
If you have not picked your team then you have until the kick-off of the first game of the English Premier League – or risk starting from behind everyone else in the myriad mini-leagues you will be in this season.
So where to start?
After taking a look at the FPL basics, our guides to goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders now is the time to look at forwards – the business end of the pitch in both real-life and Fantasy football.

Unlike Manchester City, where money is no object and you also do not have to play with a forward, you will be confined by your 100 million budget and having to pick three attackers among your 15-player squad.
The good news is that for every Harry Kane – who is joint-most expensive player in FPL with Liverpool’s Mo Salah at 12.5m – there are bargain bagsmen to be had. Read on for more forwards than a WhatsApp group.

Harry Kane (12﻿.5m)
The England skipper had his best season yet last campaign to finish top of the scoring and assists charts. He has told Spurs that he wants to leave and Manchester City want him but his first order of business is to play for Spurs against the champions on the opening weekend. Wherever he plays this season he will score goals and rack up points.

Edinson Cavani (8.5m)
Manchester United have not signed the striker that many predicted but why would they with Edinson Cavani still at Old Trafford? He notched 10 goals in the last 11 games of last season and will be expected to keep his eye in when he returns from an extended break after the Copa America.
Patrick Bamford (8.0m)
The Leeds United striker finally proved himself in the English top flight last season and was second only to Kane among forwards last time out. Expect more of the same as Marcelo Bielsa’s side look towards Europe this season. Bamford is the focal point.
How to play Fantasy Premier League: the basics
Danny Ings (8.0m)
Aston Villa swiftly spent some of their Jack Grealish cash on the Southampton striker, who has been one of the most consistent forwards in the top flight in recent seasons. If Ings is allowed on penalties then his numbers could go even higher, though what his signing means for last season’s breakout star Ollie Watkins (7.5m) is a huge question.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (8.0m)
A 16-goal return was reward for Calvert-Lewin last season, one which ended with him as part of the England Euro 2020 squad. With Rafa Benitez adding two wingers in the summer, DCL could get even more chances to show-off his aerial prowess.

Michail Antonio (7.5m)
West Ham United’s star man was not available for all of last season but, injury permitting, the former midfielder will be the focal point of the attack at the London Stadium. Antonio notched 10 goals despite his shortened season, back to back double figures for the former non-league player.
Kelechi Iheanacho (7.5m)
Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy (10.5m) is the second priciest striker in the game but it could be his understudy Iheanacho that shoulders the scoring burden for the Foxes this season. The Nigerian striker scored 12 times in the league, only coming into the starting line-up halfway through the campaign.

Callum Wilson (7.5m)
The long-suffering fans of Newcastle United have to put up with a lot but Callum Wilson has been a positive. He bagged 12 in 25 games last season and will be expected to keep that up if he is to keep the Magpies up.

Ivan Toney (6.5m)
Diehards might remember the Brentford striker from his cameos for Newcastle United five years ago but he made his name last season with 31 goals in the Championship as the Bees came up. A bargain if he can do similar in the top flight but every other manager has had the same bright idea.
Fabio Silva (6.0m)
Only 19, Silva shone for Wolves last season and should do more so this time out. Much will depend on how the side gel under new boss Bruno Lage but the teenager will be solid support for Raul Jimenez (7.0m) and new arrival Francisco Trincao (6.0m).
