Shandong complete domestic double after beating Shanghai Port 1-0 in Chinese FA Cup final
- Brazilian defender Jadson scored the only goal with less than 10 minutes left
- Shandong also won the Chinese Super League early this month and have now done the ‘double’ three times

A late goal by Brazilian defender Jadson gave defending champions Shandong Taishan their third domestic double, after they beat Shanghai Port 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Phoenix Hill Stadium in Chengdu on Sunday night.
Jadson struck eight minutes from time, when captain Zheng Zheng’s free kick hit the crossbar and Shanghai goalkeeper Yan Junling punched the ball clear.
But the Brazilian, who joined from Wuhan in July, rifled home from outside the box with a powerful low shot that gave Yan no chance. Jadson also scored when the two sides met in the league in December, in a game the champions won 2-0.
It was the seventh FA Cup title for Shandong and also their third double, after triumphs in 2006 and 1999 when the top flight was still known as Jia-A.
Such has been their domestic dominance, that Shandong were confirmed as champions in December when there were still three rounds of matches to play. The were presented with the trophy after the final game last week.

Manager Hao Wei, who also played for the 1999 side, has now won the double as both a player and a coach, but attributed the success to the team.
