Changchun Yatai attacking midfielder Tan Long bagged the first hat-trick of the Chinese Super League season as his side thumped Guangzhou City 4-1 on Saturday.
Tan took 22 minutes to get his side off the mark in Haikou, but from there it was largely one-way traffic, with Changchun two up by half time.
Junior Negrao put his side 3-0 ahead after 52 minutes and Tan completed his hat-trick with little more than an hour gone. Guangzhou at least had the last word, with Wu Chengru scoring in the 90th minute.

Elsewhere, Frank Acheampong scored twice as Shenzhen got their season off to a winning start against Chongdu Rongcheng.
The Ghanaian forward finished an easy tap-in assisted by Dai Weijun before scoring his second goal in the 58th minute to seal the victory for Shenzhen.
There was a double for Dalian Pro 2 midfielder Lin Liangming too, who twice put his side ahead against Henan Jianye, only for defender Zhao Yuhao and striker Fernando Karanga to draw their team level each time.
Elsewhere, Rodrigo Henrique scored Meizhou Hakka’s first goal in the top flight, giving them the lead against Tianjin Teda after 13 minutes. Dejan Radonjic equalised 11 minutes later and the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw.
