The string of incidents, which included one player being attacked with acid, have shocked and angered the country. Though they were not thought to be linked.

In the latest incident, thieves broke into the house of Selangor FC’s Piee on Wednesday and stole his Yamaha motorbike along with other possessions.

The 30-year-old, who has won nine caps for his country, and his family were not at the house in a suburb of Shah Alam at the time, local police chief Mohamad Iqbal Ibrahim said.

The player posted on Instagram pleading for the return of his bike.
