Hong Kong midfielder Wu hails Andersen’s influence, players in dark over Norwegian’s plans as coach looks set to quit

Hong Kong midfielder Wu Chun-ming hailed the impact head coach Jorn Andersen has had on his career, amid rumours the Norwegian has resigned to take up a job in the Chinese Super League.
Reports indicating Andersen had quit first surfaced late on Monday before the Norwegian failed to show up for a training session on Tuesday, leaving assistant Wolfgang Luisser to take charge of the squad.
Andersen had been in talks with football bosses over extending a contract that expires in June 2025.
“We have no news … no more information than you guys,” Wu told the Post. “The mood in the squad is still positive.”
Wu, 26, credited Andersen with “playing a big role in my career”, but refused to be drawn on his thoughts over a potential exit for the former North Korea boss.
Before Andersen’s appointment in December 2021, Wu had only one Hong Kong cap, dating back to October 2017.
