Eastern head coach Roberto Losada said he would be “interested” in the vacant Hong Kong head coach position, but was focused on Saturday’s FA Cup final against Sham Shui Po.
Jorn Andersen announced he was stepping down from his post as head coach on Wednesday, and the Spaniard said it was a position everyone was looking at.
“Which coach would not be interested in the head coach of a national team?” Losada said. “Of course everybody is interested – it’s a big challenge and a big position.
“But I haven’t thought about that yet, I have to think about the final, that’s my first thing.”
Two-time Hong Kong coach of the year Losada, who picked up his second award in as many seasons on Tuesday, also said knowledge of how the city works was key for whoever replaced Andersen.

“HKFA have to find a coach who understands how Hong Kong works – that’s important,” he said. “A coach who knows how Hong Kong works in terms of the teams, the competition, the players.
