Carabao Cup holders Liverpool stormed into the final as they demolished Tottenham 4-0 at Anfield in their semi-final second leg.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, they took the lead on the night after 34 minutes through Cody Gakpo before Mohamed Salah netted from the spot six minutes after half-time.
Dominic Szoboszlai effectively sealed the tie with the third of the night, and Virgil van Dijk headed in the fourth from a corner.
The Carabao Cup was the last trophy won under previous manager Jurgen Klopp, while the Reds are hoping this could be the first leg of a potential Quadruple.
However, they meet Newcastle United in the final, whose long-suffering supporters will be hoping this can be the occasion they finally end their 56-year trophy drought.

‘My decision’
Ruben Amorim said he sanctioned Marcus Rashford’s loan to Aston Villa because the Manchester United manager could not get the forward to “see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train”.
The 27-year-old’s last appearance for the Old Trafford side was a 2-1 victory in Europa League over Viktoria Plzen on December 12 before he was left out of the match day squad for the Manchester derby three days later.
And at the end of the January transfer window, a deal was agreed for him to join Villa on loan.
“Sometimes you have one player that is really good with one coach, and the same player with another coach is different,” Amorim added.
“I wish the best to Rashford and to [Villa manager] Unai Emery, and they can connect because he’s a very good player.”
United also allowed fellow forward Antony to join Real Betis on loan but, despite seeing two front players to leave, no replacements were forthcoming – a decision Amorim called a “risk”.
“The important thing is that I’m here saying that was my decision, like Ty [Malacia] and Antony was my decision to do these loans, and to keep some players even without any transfers,” he said
No boycott

England will play Afghanistan in the Champions Trophy later this month despite calls from British politicians to boycott the match over the Taliban regime’s curtailment of women’s rights.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said the fixture would go ahead in Lahore on February 26 after consulting the UK government, the International Cricket Council and England players.
More than 160 British politicians had called for a boycott as female participation in sport has effectively been outlawed since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021.
ECB chairman Richard Thompson described the situation in Afghanistan as “gender apartheid” but said the match would take place.
“We remain of the view that a coordinated international response by the cricketing community is the appropriate way forward, and will achieve more than any unilateral action by the ECB in boycotting this match,” he said.
Ohtani’s ex-interpreter jailed

The former interpreter for baseball star Shohei Ohtani was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison as well as three years’ supervised release for bank and tax fraud after he stole nearly US$17 million (HK$132 million) from the Los Angeles Dodgers player’s bank account.
Ippei Mizuhara was ordered Thursday to pay US$18 million in restitution, with nearly US$17 million going to Ohtani and the remainder to the IRS. He was ordered to surrender to authorities to begin serving his sentence by March 24.
“The magnitude of the theft – $17 million – in my view, is shockingly high,” US District Judge John W Holcomb said upon issuing the sentence.
Trump feels the LIV

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said he met United States President Donald Trump at the White House this week as the tour moves closer to finalising a long-sought investment deal with the Saudi Arabian backers of rival LIV Golf.
Monahan said he and Adam Scott, one of the player directors on the PGA Tour board, met Trump and asked him to get involved in the negotiations “for the good of the game, the good of the country, and for all the countries involved.”
“We are grateful that his leadership has brought us closer to a final deal, paving the way for reunification of men’s professional golf,” Monahan said.
