Portugal and Chile brawl in not so friendly World Cup warm-up, 2 sent off
First half punch-up sparked by clash between Portugal’s Rafael Leao and Ivan Roman. Ronaldo substituted at half-time

Portugal forward Rafael Leao was sent off for punching an opponent during a feisty 2-0 win over Chile in a World Cup warm-up on Saturday.
Leao got into a heated altercation with Chile defender Ivan Roman after he felt he had been fouled by a different opponent. Leao was spotted throwing a punch during the mass scuffle that followed, and Roman reacted angrily and both were shown straight red cards on the stroke of half-time.
Cristiano Ronaldo started the match but was taken off at the break moments after having an effort ruled out for offside, and his replacement, Goncalo Guedes, scored the opening goal shortly before the hour mark.
Bruno Fernandes doubled Portugal’s lead in the 75th minute and Lucas Cepeda got a consolation for Chile in stoppage time.
Portugal have another home friendly against Nigeria in Leiria on June 10 before setting off to play Uzbekistan, Colombia and Congo, who they open their Group K campaign against on June 17 in Houston.
Ronaldo is set to make a record-tying sixth World Cup appearance.
