Fanling Trophy tight at the top with Terrence Ng, Nathan Goulding sharing Hong Kong Golf Club halfway lead
- Professional pair fire matching 2-under-par 68s to take slender one-shot lead on Wednesday
- ‘Not too good, not too bad … I’ll take it,’ says Ng, who was cruising at four-under before two late bogeys

Professionals Terrence Ng and Nathan Goulding fired matching 2-under-par 68s to take the halfway lead at the Fanling Trophy at the Hong Kong Golf Club on Wednesday.
The pair hold a slender one-shot lead from the defending champion, amateur Isaac Lam, in third place with a group of four players including veteran Derek Fung a shot further back on level par.
The 36-hole tournament, which includes the top male and female players from the Hong Kong Professional Golfers’ Association and the Hong Kong Golf Association, is hosted by the Hong Kong Golf Club and features a prize purse of HK$100,000.
“Not too good, not too bad … I’ll take it,” said Ng, who was cruising along at four-under before becoming slightly unglued with two late bogeys on the New Course. “The conditions are great, really ideal for scoring, and it was nice to get it going for a while.”

The 27-year-old turned pro after making the cut at the Hong Kong Open in January 2020 but has seen his tournament playing opportunities around the region hampered by the pandemic.
