Hong Kong’s Taichi Kho is just three shots off the lead at the International Series England event after carding a blistering four-under-par 67 in the second round.

Competing against a stellar field, the 21-year-old amateur will start the third round of the Asian Tour event in a tie for 13th at three-under alongside the likes of former US Open winner Graeme McDowell.

The pair will play in the same group at Slaley Hall, along with Australian Todd Sinnott, and are scheduled to tee-off at 5.12pm, Hong Kong time.

Kho’s round was one of the best of the day, and leaves him within sight of leaders Justin Harding and Joohyung Kim, both of whom are at six-under for the tournament.

The 67 stood in stark contrast to the one-over 72 he shot on the opening day, which left him in a large group of players tied for 58th, and Kho said his strong self-belief had played a large part in the recovery.

“I was really happy with my ability to focus on the right things today and to always maintain high belief even in the face of adversity,” he said.
