China’s Ye Wocheng continued to set the pace in the final stage of the Asian Tour’s Q-school tournament in Thailand on Friday, shooting a four-under-par 67 to move three shots clear of the field.

Cho Mingyu is hot on his heels though, after a 62 rocketed the Korean up the leader board in Thailand.

His compatriot Kim Dongmin and Australia’s John Lyras, who carded 63 and 67 respectively at Lake View Resort and Golf Club, in Hua Hin, are two shots further back.

Hong Kong’s Taichi Kho recorded a solid two-under 69 to move to seven-under overall after the third round, leaving him in a tie for 23rd and within sight of reaching the next cut-off stage on Saturday evening, after which only the top 70 and ties will battle it out for one of the 35 tour cards on offer.

Matthew Cheung was the only other golfer from the city to progress beyond the second round, but is presently at one-under and in a tie for 85th. Leon D’Souza and Terence Ng were both among the more than 100 players who did not make the first cut.

“I am just trying to stay at the same level mentally,” Ye said. “I have played in a few qualifiers, so I know what to do. It helps I am putting really well. And I am not too focused on winning, just getting my card.”
