LIV Golf promotion plan opens door for Asian Tour players to join elite league
- International Series money list will now provide way for players to qualify for elite league’s ‘Q-school’
- Sources say promotion and relegation system will create jeopardy within LIV framework

There will be more than just trophies and the International Series order of merit riding on the Asian Tour’s last two stops of the year in Hong Kong and Indonesia this November.
While the overall series winner will follow in Scott Vincent’s footsteps and secure a place on the LIV Golf League for 2024, those players ranked from second to 32 on the list will also have a chance to join the lucrative circuit.
So the points up for grabs at Hong Kong Golf Club and potentially in Jakarta will have an impact far beyond the end of season money list.
After the organisation’s CEO Greg Norman talked in Adelaide about players being relegated from the team-driven league, officials have confirmed that their version of Q-school, in this case a promotions tournament, will take place after the event in Indonesia on November 19.
In addition to the 30 from the Asian Tour, other players including the world’s leading amateurs, golfers with world rankings and members from other tours are expected to battle it out for one of the 48 LIV spots available.

The churn means some of the players presently on the LIV circuit will need to finish in the top 24 after the final tournament in Saudi Arabia at the start of November to ensure they are not in danger of being relegated.
