Philippines star Miguel Tabuena ready to challenge game’s elite for place in LIV Golf
Multiple Asian Tour winner who won International Series Philippines, says the season had been ‘the highlight of my career’

Miguel Tabuena has already experienced the pain of missing out on a place in LIV Golf once, he does not plan on letting it happen a second time.
The 31-year-old came agonisingly close to securing his spot via the International Series Rankings earlier this month, finishing third in a battle with Scott Vincent and Yosuke Asaji for the two spots up for grabs at the season finale in Saudi Arabia.
But after a year when he thrilled fans by winning the series event on his home Sta Elena Golf Club course in the Philippines in October, the two-time Olympian heads to the league’s promotions event in Florida in less than 10 days, convinced he can compete with the elite of the game.
“I’m coming into promotions with a really strong mindset,” Tabuena said. “Missing out in the rankings race hurt, but it also motivated me. I know what’s at stake, and I know I can compete with anyone in that field.
“It’s about staying patient, staying focused, and trusting the game that got me here.”
Tabuena was in the hunt right until the final back nine, when some costly mistakes left him two shots short of sealing one of the promotion places.
