Ju Yingzhi sent Pegasus into the final of the Canbo Senior Shield competition after scoring a brace in their 3-2 semi-final win over Royal Southern at Mong Kok Stadium in Hong Kong on Thursday.

Southern were reduced to 10 men when midfielder Lee Ngai-hoi was sent off in the first half of extra time for a second caution.

Ju’s free kick in the 78th minute had levelled the score at 2-2 before he slotted home the winner in extra time.

Chan Pak-hang had put Pegasus into the lead in first-half stoppage time but his effort was cancelled out by an own goal from Eugene Mbome after the break. Carril gave Southern hope with a powerful drive home to give Southern a 2-1 lead, but it was Ju that made the difference.

Pegasus will take on South China, who beat Eastern Salon 3-2 in the other semi-final on Christmas Day, in the final on January 12.
