As usual, the Hong Kong Marathon 10-kilometre event attracted an interesting variety of characters.
Runners Udo Wong Chun-hin and Cherry Chiu Cheuk-ying took sporting attire to a new level by dressing up in full “onesy” animal suits.
“People in Hong Kong are so serious about everything. We feel this event should be a time for fun and stress reduction,” said Wong, 24.

Chiu joked that the suits would help them keep warm throughout the run.

The carnival-like atmosphere began at 5.15am on Sunday morning amid a cold weather warning and a slight drizzle.
Despite being slightly warmer than the last week, morning temperatures still hovered at a chilly 13 to 14 degrees.
