October date set for Hong Kong Open
The 56th edition of the annual tournament will be held earlier to avoid clashing with two other major events

The US$1.3 million Hong Kong Open will switch to an October date this year, avoiding another potential clash with two other events.
Those events are the Hong Kong International Races and Hong Kong Squash Open, which are both held in December.
The 56th edition of the Open, which is still without a title sponsor, will be held at the Hong Kong Golf Club from October 16-19.
Spaniard Miguel Angel Jiménez beat Welshman Stuart Manley and Thailand's Prom Meesawat in a play-off to secure the title for a fourth time last year and break his own record as the European Tour's oldest champion, aged 49 years and 337 days.
As the penultimate European Tour event before the Final Series, the Hong Kong Open will play a pivotal role in determining the ultimate player line-up of the Race to Dubai.
