Asian Games: Bronze medals for Hong Kong fencers and swimming relay team

Hong Kong collected three bronze medals yesterday, two from fencing through Lin Po-heung and Lam Hin-chung and the third in swimming from the women's 4x100-metre freestyle relay team.
Lin put up a great fight in the women's individual foil against Le Huilin of China, before losing 13-11 in the semi-finals, while Kim Jung-hwan of South Korea was too strong for Lam, who lost 15-9 in the men's individual sabre semis.
"Lin did not do very well in the pool but showed marked improvement in the knockout stage with two great wins," said fencing team manager Yeung Wing-sun.
"Lin is an experienced fencer who knows how to progress in a big event like the Asian Games and it was a pity she could not go a step farther."
The swimming relay quartet of Camille Cheng Lily Mei, Stephanie Au Hoi-shun, Sze Hang-yu and Siobhan Haughey finished their race in three minutes 39.94 seconds, just behind second-placed Japan, who clocked 3:39.35. China won gold in 3:37.25.
In the men's gunshu and daoshu all-round of wushu, Cheng Chung-hang was fourth after the morning session but could not vie for a medal after he broke his apparatus in the afternoon and was disqualified.
