Two champion windsurfers, but only one eligible for Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards

One of Hong Kong’s Asian Games gold-medal-winning windsurfers – Cheng Kwok-fai or Hayley Chan Hei-man – will miss out on nomination for athlete of the year in the Samsung 2014 Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards.

A rule limiting only one nomination from each category will force the Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong to drop one of their stars.

Vivien Lau Chiang-chu, the chairwoman of the awards organising committee, said the rule would stay.
