South China are beginning to show the fire of old after completing a hectic week-long schedule by thrashing BC Rangers 4-1 in the Canbo Senior Shield quarter-finals on Sunday.

The Caroliners did not have it their way at the start of the season, losing two backroom staff members that didn't help their cause and recording mediocre results.

But this past week, South China have held arch-rivals Kitchee 2-2 in the league, beaten title challengers Eastern 2-1 and now they are in the semi-finals of the season's first tournament offering silverware.
