Marco Fu reaches quarter-finals after dramatic win as Ronnie O'Sullivan bags 147
Hong Kong star hails biggest win of his career after winning despite being far from his best

Hong Kong’s Marco Fu Ka-chun hailed the “biggest win of my career" after sealing his place in the last eight of the UK Championship with a dramatic 6-5 win over Shaun Murphy, while Ronnie O’Sullivan surged into the quarter-finals with a 147, despite playing on a broken ankle.
Murphy beat Fu 10-9 in a tense 2008 final and the pair went the distance again, with the match being decided on the final black.
The Englishman had looked on course to seal a place in the last eight when he built a 5-3 lead, helped by a superb 137 in the fifth frame, but Fu battled back to level things up at 5-5.
Murphy again seemed to have the edge in the final frame but, after compiling a break of 54, he snookered himself on the final yellow and Fu did not let his opportunity slip, the 36-year-old potting all the colours to take the decider 74-62.
“Overall I’m not happy with the way I played but I regard this as the biggest win of my career,” said world number 10 Fu. “I’ve won matches against top players when I’m playing well but today I don’t feel capable of making a 20 break when I get the chance. Shaun was playing very well and cueing well under pressure.
