Pegasus hope Croatian Tokic can boost their season

Hong Kong club Sun Pegasus have secured a European striker in a bid to step up their soccer season.

Croatian Niko Tokic, 26, who scored 19 goals with Lithuania Super League side Siauliai last season, starts training on Thursday after agreeing to an 18-month deal.

Club director Chan Chi-hong hopes Tokic will link well with Bosnian forward Admir Rascic. Pegasus released midfielder Aleksandar Randelovic while Hong Kong-born player Michael Campion has joined South China on loan.

Pegasus started the season in convincing fashion, winning five games on the trot, but they were then held to a goalless draw by cellar dwellers Tai Po before losing 3-0 to Eastern, which has somewhat dented their title hopes even though they are joint league leaders with Eastern. They were also eliminated by Wong Tai Sin in the Canbo Senior Shield.
