Woo Wing-tung hurled the javelin to a new Hong Kong record of 48.58 metres in round three of the Athletics Series at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground on Saturday.

She easily bettered her old record of 47.22 metres.

In the men’s 400 metres, Hong Kong record holder Chan Ka-chun turned in another steady performance, taking the gold in 47.67 seconds.

Leung King-hung and Ho Tsz-fung finished second and third in 47.78 seconds and 49.52s respectively.

In another highlighted event, long jumper Chan Ming-tai won the men’s competition with a leap of 7.53 metres.
