Rex Tso Sing-yu has been given the “green light” for Saturday night’s “Night of Champions II” showdown against Australia’s Brad Hore as he looks to extend his unbeaten streak.

Tso revealed he has been using a special monitoring device that measures his HRV (heart rate variability) and lights have been going green for the past few days, indicating peak fitness levels.

The BioForce HRV system is used by professional athletes to track their training and measure the variability in the rhythm of their heartbeat that results from training and recovery.

“It indicates my fitness and tells me whether I am tired or need a break and it’s been showing green all the time, which is good,” said Tso, who is looking to stretch his record to 18 wins at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“It’s a useful device. We have been monitoring my fitness levels and indications are that I am very fit and ready to fight. I’m going to go for it 100 per cent,” said the Wonder Kid, whose heart rate of 42 beats per minute is far lower than the average 75-80 beats.

The device helped Tso easily make weight yesterday for his super flyweight bout for the vacant WBC Asia super flyweight title. The Hong Kong star tipped the scales at 114 pounds. Hore weighed 113.5 pounds.

Tso’s trainer and manager, Jay Lau Chi-yuen, said the camp has been monitoring his protégé’s condition for weeks and indications are that his fitness would be at a “very similar” level to six weeks ago when he won a fourth-round TKO against Khunkhiri Wor Wisaruth in Macau.

“Rex’s condition and fitness level are not going to be any worse than last time out.

"We wanted to maintain that level and not push him too hard because we were very happy with his performance in Macau last time. It’s not a good idea to push him too hard with about 40 days to prepare and wear him out,” said Lau.

The Tso camp expects a tough fight against Australia’s “Pocket Rocket” (5-1-0) who could prove a tough nut to crack for the unbeaten Wonder Kid. “Brad Hore has fought world champions before as an amateur and he’s more experienced than Rex.

The Wonder Kid takes a sip of water immediately after making weight.

"We expect the fight to go the distance [10 rounds]. Since Rex is a taller and bigger opponent, we believe Hore will try to keep out of Rex’s range,” said Lau.

Tso said he has done “all the training” required and wants to put on a good show in his first fight in front of his home fans in more than two years.

“It will be an interesting battle because I don’t usually fight fellow southpaws. Hore has good experience and could prove a handful,” he said. “I must stay on my toes and deliver on my promise. I’m a bit nervous about the fight,” said Tso.

Rex Tso tips the scales at 114 pound for the super flyweight title fight.

Hore’s manager, Matt Clark, expects victory for the “Pocket Rocket” from Caloundra in Queensland.

“Brad is in great shape. We knew this fight was going to happen back in May. Brad will easily box for 10 pounds, he’s very fit. It’s a step up for him but he has fought the best in the world. Not taking anything away from Rex as a professional, its going to be Rex’s hardest fight as a professional,” said Clark.
